J.R.R. Tolkien for Kids by Simonetta Carr
The life of this writer is like a fairy tale. Why? Because even the seemingly hard events of his life turned out to be positive for J.R. Tolkien. Yes, he went to war, but he quickly returned home, and, thanks to this return, he could create so many books and so many fairy-tale worlds that we can now read and imagine.
He also wrote a small book called The Father Christmas Letters, which were actually addressed to his children. He wrote fairy-tale letters to his children, and it turned out to be a wonderful children’s book. I think it will be interesting for children to learn about Tolkien’s life from the point of view of not only a writer but also a loving father.
